The 2014-2015 season at Angers Nantes Opéra
During the 2014-2015 season, 5 opéras will be performed in Nantes and Angers, including the world première of a jazz opera :
- Francesco Cavalli : Elena, conducted by Monica Pustilnik, directed by Jean-Yves Ruf (first performed in Aix-en-Provence in July 2013) ;
- Jacques Offenbach : Barbe-Bleue, conducted by Laurent Campellone, directed by Waut Koeken (first performed in Maastricht in March 2011) ;
- Erich Wolfgang Korngold : Die tote Stadt, conducted by Thomas Rösner, directed by Philipp Himmelmann (first performed in Nancy in May 2010) ;
- Laurent Cugny : La Tectonique des nuages, conducted by the composer, directed by François Rancillac (jazz opera, world première) ;
- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky : Eugene Onegin, conducted by Lukasz Borowicz, directed by Alain Garichot (first performed in Nancy in April 1997).
Before joining with Angers, the Théâtre Graslin in Nantes performed a lot of rarely performed operas, including several French premières :
- Aulis Sallinen : Kullervo, in December 1995 ;
- Carlisle Floyd : Susannah, in March 1997 ;
- Philippe Boesmans : Reigen, in June 1997 ;
- Nikolai Karetnikov : Till Eulenspiegel, in March 1999 ;
- Carlisle Floyd : Of Mice and Men, in November 1999 ;
- Gottfried von Einem : Der Prozess, in January 2001 ;
- Thomas Adès : Powder Her Face, in November 2001 ;
- Manfred Gurlitt : Die Soldaten, in January 2002 ;
- Peter Bengtson : Jungfrurna, in April 2004 ;
- John Casken : Golem, in January 2007.
